1.You will need to collect all your personal and family financial information.You will require your social security number,driver's license,recent federal tax returns for your parents and for yourself,W-2s,current bank statesments and other information regarding untaxed income or investment income for your family.You will need to show your parmanent resident card or omline registration if you are not a citizn of U.S.
2.To make sure that you have all your information ready or not,you'll need to visit the FAFSA(Free Application Federal Student Aid) website and download a copy of it on the Web Worksheet and complete this worksheet.
3.To save your personal information from being misused,you will have to clear your browser's cache so that your personal information is protected.
4.After you get the application, open it and fill it in completely and correctly.
5.If your have PIN number,it will greatly help you but if you don't have, you must apply for a PIN number because it allows you to sing your FAFSA application electronically. This makes the aplication process go much faster.
6.Before submitting the application,use your PIN number to sing in the FAFSA.This will allow you to apply for the Pell grant.You will need to check the FAFSA website for the deadline since there is a summer deadline for each year that you must meet.
7.After the submission of your application,you will have to wait for your Student Aid Report (SAR).In this report,you will come to know if you have qulified for a Pell Grant or not.YOu will also be given instructions as to how you can get your money that you applied for.
